#9970 new defect

Parallel compiling produces incorrect ImageBuilder

Reported by: Luiz Angelo Daros de Luca <luizluca@…> Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Chaos Calmer 15.05
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: Cc:

Sometimes, when building with "make -j2", ImageBuilder gets generated without some files. This is the result when running make image:

make V=99 -C target/linux/ar71xx/image install TARGET_BUILD=1 IB=1
make[3]: Entering directory `/mnt/usuarios/luizluca/prog/openwrt/backfire/bin/ar71xx/OpenWrt-ImageBuilder-ar71xx-for-Linux-x86_64/target/linux/ar71xx/image'
cp /mnt/usuarios/luizluca/prog/openwrt/backfire/bin/ar71xx/OpenWrt-ImageBuilder-ar71xx-for-Linux-x86_64/build_dir/linux-ar71xx/vmlinux.elf /mnt/usuarios/luizluca/prog/openwrt/backfire/bin/ar71xx/OpenWrt-ImageBuilder-ar71xx-for-Linux-x86_64/bin/ar71xx/openwrt-ar71xx-vmlinux.elf
cp: cannot stat `/mnt/usuarios/luizluca/prog/openwrt/backfire/bin/ar71xx/OpenWrt-ImageBuilder-ar71xx-for-Linux-x86_64/build_dir/linux-ar71xx/vmlinux.elf': No such file or directory
make[3]: *** [install] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/mnt/usuarios/luizluca/prog/openwrt/backfire/bin/ar71xx/OpenWrt-ImageBuilder-ar71xx-for-Linux-x86_64/target/linux/ar71xx/image'
make[2]: *** [build_image] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory `/mnt/usuarios/luizluca/prog/openwrt/backfire/bin/ar71xx/OpenWrt-ImageBuilder-ar71xx-for-Linux-x86_64'
make[1]: *** [_call_image] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/mnt/usuarios/luizluca/prog/openwrt/backfire/bin/ar71xx/OpenWrt-ImageBuilder-ar71xx-for-Linux-x86_64'
make: ** [image] Erro 2

It seems to be a race problem. Please, revise the dependencies of files inside ImageBuilder's makefile.

If I remove the OpenWrt-ImageBuilder...tar.bz2 and run make again without -j2, it generates a correct ImageBuilder.
