IP alias not configure at boot

Reported by: michel@… Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Netifd Implementation
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: alias boot Cc:

Description

I'm having this problem for a long time on OpenWRT with Ubnt RSPro.

At boot, alias are not configure, I must reload or restart network after boot to have my alias set.

I have seen this also on backfire 10.0.3.1 rc4 and on kamikaze with the image you can download from openwrt snapshot image.

How to use this?

old config:

config interface lan
	option type	bridge
	option ifname	eth0.1
	option proto	static
	option ipaddr	192.168.204.1
	option netmask	255.255.255.0
	option dns	127.0.0.1

config alias
	option interface lan
	option proto	static
	option ipaddr	192.168.99.1
	option netmask	255.255.255.255

new config:

config interface lan
	option type	bridge
	option ifname	eth0.1
	option proto	static
	option ipaddr	192.168.204.1
	option netmask	255.255.255.0
	option dns	127.0.0.1

config interface lanalias
	option interface lan # ???
	option proto	static
	option ipaddr	192.168.99.1
	option netmask	255.255.255.255

??
Could you give examples? I only found: http://nbd.name/gitweb.cgi?p=luci2/netifd.git;a=blob;f=config/network;hb=HEAD , but it doesn't contain an example for alias.

alias support added in r31840, though using multiple interface sections is still the preferred way to configure this.
