#9566 reopened defect

tl- wr841nd detected as a tl-wr741nd

Reported by: Gingernut Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: other Version: Trunk
Keywords: Cc:

tl- wr841nd is detected as a tl-wr741nd in latest trunk builds, 27115, 27143, 27174, and leds don't work as should.

Lan leds come on when a cable is inserted but don't flash.
Wlan led is on but just flashes all the time even with no traffic.

I realized that the Wlan led does infact stop flashing when there is no activity.

I don't know but maybe the wr841nd and the wr741nd are the very similar so the lan led problem is probably the same.

I have a tl-wr841nd (a few actually), and the LAN led defaults to on, but flashes when there is network activity. At lease for version 7 of the device (you didn't mention version number). Therefore unless you can provide more information I'm closing this as worksforme

I have two WR741N that I have flashed with the latest trunk. The first one works fine. I can grab an IP from WAN port and do opkg update/install for LuCI. The second one is suffering from this bug - it is detected as 741 and I can't grab any IP from the WAN port.

After installing packages uploaded to /tmp by SCP, I found out that the WiFi interface isn't working as well. It is detected as 802.11bg only. What details would you need to resolve this? Thanks!

More details: both of the routers are WR841N v7.2. I'm gonna try flashing again to see if it helps.
