Huawey B970b router from Vodafone RO

Reported by: radocea@… Owned by: developers

Description

Hello,
I have the router Huawey B907b from Vodafone Romania.
It has a strange protection for the SIM card.
1) it changes the pin code of the SIM card after the first reboot, even if you insert a SIM card with PIN code 1234 but DISABLED.
2) It stores the SIM's serial number and the pin changed without notice somewhere in the memory.
3) Everything is fine if you do not need to remove the SIM from the router (like I do).
4) in order to use the sim in another device, first you have the surprise of the PIN being Activated, even if you disabled it before inserting it in the router, you have to block the pin and unlock it via PUK code, then reuse the card with a new pin.
5) after this if you insert the SIM card with a different pin than the one only the router knows the router asks for the PIN each reboot.
6) if you disable the pin now, and insert it into the router, the router does not accept the sim card.
7) you can use again the sim card if you enable the pin, start the router, (it will enter his own pin) and you will see 2 attempts remaining if you enter the router-s page, insert the correct pin you know, and the router accepts the SIM.
8) now it is connected to the internet but you have no access to the Mobile network settings, the SIM indicator in the config page is RED and the Network type is RED and it is set to NONE.
9) Everything else fine until next reboot.
10) Big problem is that even if you hardware reset it with the pin on the side it still remembers the SIM serial and his pin code.

For the moment, the only workaround is to change SIM each time you want to use it in another device.
STUPID.
Attached there are some screenshots to be more specific.
