#9418 new defect

IPv6 DHCPv6 -PD does not work over PPTP/GRE interface if modules are compiled in

Reported by: aenertia@… Owned by: developers
Priority: high Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: kernel Version: Trunk
Keywords: Cc:

Description

IPv6 DHCPv6 PD with both wide-dhcpv6 and dibbler clients fails to work over a pptp/gre interface when the gre and/or pptp modules are compiled into the base image.

This appears to be because the gre/pptp tunnel interface does not/cannot be assinged a link-local ipv6 address on creation (maybe a race condition) which means the dhcpv6-client request has no valid DUID information to send upstream.

This has been the case for sometime in trunk (at least since september last year)

is there a workaround for that problem ?
How can I make a static assignment to the pptp interface when I know my IPv6 prefix and linknet ?
