#9373 closed defect (obsolete)

block-mount depends on swap-utils even when busybox has it compiled in

Reported by: ddxx0n Owned by: cshore
Priority: low Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: base system Version: Trunk

Description

It is not necessary to select CONFIG_PACKAGE_swap-utils by CONFIG_PACKAGE_swap-utils when busybox has BUSYBOX_CONFIG_SWAPONOFF
and CONFIG_BUSYBOX_CONFIG_MKSWAP

I don't know how to check for that from package/block-mount/Makefile though, personally I just removed that dependency.

See: /changeset/26245.html

busybox' BUSYBOX_CONFIG_MKSWAP/BUSYBOX_CONFIG_SWAPONOFF is disabled in default config.

Yes. I am aware that it is disabled - but OpenWrt is not just about pre-packaged .ipk and the default config, but also about configurability, right? And for Routers with external storage and limited internal flash, it does makes sense to use the busybox versions.

This is not very urgent (thus I set the priority as low), but it would be nice if there was a way to make packages depend on *either* the busybox *or* standalone versions of utilities.

If there is not way to detect busybox configurations via via the existing buildroot mechanism, then you can go ahead and close the ticket as unfixable.
