#9291 closed defect (fixed)

Package asterisk 1.8 has inotify enabled. but Openwrt kernel does not

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: developers
Priority: high Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: asterisk Cc:

Description

Current SVN Backfire(10.03.1-RC5) package asterisk 1.8 has inotify enabled. but Openwrt kernel does not have this by default.
in target/linux/generic-2.6/config-2.6.32, it says,

# CONFIG_INOTIFY is not set
# CONFIG_INOTIFY_USER is not set

which means no inotify kernel support.

But Asterisk 1.8 package has inotify in it.
Asterisk 1.8 console shows,

[Apr 24 00:15:28] ERROR[9181]: pbx_spool.c:586 scan_thread: Unable to initialize inotify(7)

All compiled Openwrt binaries may have some problem with current Asterisk 1.8 package.
Either Asterisk package should drop inotify (--without-inotify) or default kernel option must be modified.

I forgot to mention that this is the case only if you use asterisk18-pbx-spool sub-package.

Asterisk 1.8 has a few left-over error messages.

pbx-spool should work fine with inotify disabled kernel.
The error message from Asterisk might be just superficial.

auto calling doesn't work with default pbx-spool package.
It seems --without-inotify is needed in make file.
