Description

The signal stregths reported by OpenWrt r26651 were collected Apr 13 2011.

Today, we had the requirement to change the AP due to a storm yesterday. The installer had only a Bullet M2 HP with factory firmware (AirOS v5.3).

What follows is a comparison of the signal strength reported Apr 13 by OpenWrt r26651 and the signal strength reported Apr 20 by AirOS v5.3 for the same set of subscriber CPEs. In both cases, the AP was a Ubiquiti Bullet M2 HP.

This supplicant is hopeful that this is in some way related to the problem we are experiencing with the Ubiquiti Rocket M900 (extremely low signal strengths). The leap to a smoothly functioning M900 system is purely a leap of faith.

N.B.: we are not saying either measurement is correct or that either measurement is wrong; in fact, we're sort of like Will Rogers when he said "I only know what I read in the newspapers."

Not to be argumentative, but instead, curious and willing to learn, if one believes the following from Ubiquiti Loco M900 CPE, why isn't -21 dBm of SNR adequate for good communications between the AP and the CPE?
