#9263 assigned defect

vlans don't work on NSLU2; fix provided

Reported by: lon@… Owned by: kaloz
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: kernel Version: Trunk
Keywords: NSLU2, firmware, vlan, 802.11(q) Cc:

Description

Having recently switched my slugs (i.e. Linksys NSLU2s) over to OpenWRT from Debian, I discovered that trying to use vlans (802.11(q)) failed miserably, and led to other problems with the ethernet interface. Looking into it, I noticed that the firmware (/lib/firmware/NPE-B) used by Debian and OpenWRT was different. I have no idea what the provenance of these files is, but simply replacing the OpenWRT version of the firmware with the Debian one fixed the problem. This should probably be the default.
