#9215 closed defect (obsolete)

IPv6 default gateway depends on IPv6 address

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Bugs Paradise
Component: base system Version: Backfire 10.03.1 RC4
Keywords: ip6gw, ip6addr, uci, network Cc:

When operating an IPv6 router, IP6 address is not mandatory on the egress interface (when prefixes are routed to its LL address, and we're too using the LL address of the uplink router as default gw)
Therefore one cannot set the default gateway if addresses are configured on a different interface.
Line in question:

[ -z "$ipaddr" -o -z "$netmask" ] && [ -z "$ip6addr" ] && return 1

[ -z "$ipaddr" -o -z "$netmask" ] && [ -z "$ip6addr" ] && [ -z "$ip6gw" ] return 1
