Hyphens in ifnames causes most pre-processing scripts to fail

Reported by: aenertia@… Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: base system Version: Trunk

Attitude adjustment and backfire have major problems when an ifname (such as pptp-XXXXX) is used.

This stops all sorts of things from working:

Here is a typical example (siproxd) which generates a config file such as:

root@patumate:~# cat /var/etc/siproxd.conf
sip_listen_port = 5060
daemonize = 1
silence_log = 0
log_calls = 1
user = nobody
registration_file = /var/lib/siproxd/siproxd_registrations
pid_file = /var/run/siproxd/
rtp_proxy_enable = 1
rtp_port_low = 7070
rtp_port_high = 7089
rtp_timeout = 300
default_expires = 600
debug_level = 0x00000000
debug_port = 0
if_inbound = br-lan
if_outbound = xnet_ifname:-

from an /etc/config/siproxd of:
root@patumate:~# cat /etc/config/siproxd
config siproxd general

option if_inbound 'lan'
option if_outbound 'pptp-xnet'

where the actual interface is pptp-xnet (which is assigned to the 'wan' firewall zone, but where no wan interface exists on the system). And where it is labeled as interface xnet in the network config (pptp is automatically added)

This breaks lots of things:

route configuration from pptp scripts

probably a bunch of other stuff I have not found.

Solutions: fix preprossing scripts to either

a) work with - hyphens in ifnames
b) not create ifnames with hyphens

You're supposed to use uci network naes here which may not contain hyphens anyway.
