Description
I have a DSL modem connected to an ethernet port of my OpenWRT router, and the router is running PPPoE. The DSL modem also runs IP on the ethernet (so you can telnet it for stats and such). I don't see a way in OpenWRT to set an IP on the ethernet interface underlying a PPPoE connection (the IP should stay set even if the PPPoE connection goes down). I know this can work, because I can log in to the router and add an IP with "ip addr add" and telnet to the DSL modem.
