usb hub disconnects port

Description

When I connect arduino to usb hub and write something to it through serial from python it disconnects and reconnects immediately. My router is buffalo wzr-hp-g300nh

Are you using a powered hub? The Arduino and hub may be pulling too much current from the router's usb port. Try it with a powered hub and see if it's still an issue.

The hub AND the arduino is powered externally. The problem still persists.

I have a similar problem with a USB 3G modem:
