A default config file is missing in the patch.

There is no dedicated config file because it uses the main /etc/config/qos ... you have to add a section:

config 'qosmon'
option 'interval' '800'
option 'ping_limit' '85'

The defaults are from the gargoyle init file which can be found here (these really should be in the openwrt init file as fallback in case the qosmon config section is missing):

The ping target defaults to the provider gateway at the time qosmon is started. If it should be something else, this is the option to add:

option 'ping_target' ''

  • Resolution set to wontfix
  • Status changed from accepted to closed

This package is already available in the gargoyle feed.

Thanks, Florian. I agree that there is no need to duplicate.

For the benefit of anyone who like me was struggling a bit to find out how to add the gargoyle repo:

echo "src-git gargoyle" >> feeds.conf && ./scripts/feeds update gargoyle && ./scripts/feeds install qos-gargoyle

It looks like unfortunately qos-gargoyle, evolving from qosmon, has been integrated more tightly into the gargoyle web interface. I see it as a step backwards, the daemon should be GUI-agnostic.

I don't want qos-gargoyle, I want simple qosmon...

Any updates on this? This is a very useful utility, but I doubt this works in barrier breaker.

comment:10 Changed 3 years ago by rojolko@…

I'd like to have this feature too. I have some congestion issues too. Is it available on barrier breaker 14.07 release ?

I'm looking for a way to resolve this.
