[REQUEST] For latest wpa_supplicant (0.4.7 = stable tree) compiled with "wired" driver

Description

There are some people (including me) in the forum that want to use their openwrt boxes to do some authentification like e.g. eap-md5 over _wired_ interfaces. It looks like xsupplicant doesn't do it's job very well here. On my destop maschine I have such a setup working with wpa_supplicant. Therefor a version from the 0.4.x tree is needed with the "wired" driver compiled in. I tested the wpa-supplicant-0.4.5 ipkg from Nico but it doesn't have the wired driver :-( So could the pkg please be updated to include the driver?

Thanks in advance!
Sebastian

  • Summary changed from [REQEST] For latest wpa_supplicant (0.4.7 = stable tree) compiled with "wired" driver to [REQUEST] For latest wpa_supplicant (0.4.7 = stable tree) compiled with "wired" driver

The package was updated just before the RC4 release, and the wired driver was added.

Obvious this has never worked because we are still stuck with this bug (anno 2007 end of Juli). Big bummer.
