Description
On the WNDR3700, the LAN LEDs are intended to be lit to show a link and should blink to show activity. They should be green at 1Gb/s (mode 6) and amber at 100Mb/s or 10Mb/s (mode 9). This is how the stock firmware behaves, and is how the label on the WNDR3700’s underside describes the LED operation. It’s also reasonably logical: “green” is “fast” and “amber” is “slow.”
OpenWrt currently configures the LEDs improperly. It uses amber for 1Gb/s and green for 100Mb/s and 10Mb/s. This is illogical and in contrast to the LED description printed on the unit.
Furthermore, the WAN LED is configured in mode 6, which is documented as “lit for 1Gb/s link, blink for activity.” This is not the desired behavior: the WAN LED should be lit for any speed link, and blink for activity, which would be mode 2. The WAN LED is a bit of an oddity in that it behaves as though it were in mode 2 whether mode 2 or 6 is selected.

Should this patch be committed also to the Backfire branch? The recently published 10.03.1-rc4 still has the old wrong LED colors. It would be great to have the final 10.03.1 to have the correct colors.
