#7666 closed defect (wontfix)

Madwifi, client interface does not use the proper channel using STA WDS and AP mode simultaneously.

Description

Hello, I'm trying to use my router in repeater mode.
The remote AP uses channel 11 (2.462 GHz) and I also intend to use the same channel to repeat the signal. But when configuring the STA mode interface, it does not use the same channel as defined in the configuration and do not locate the remote router's channel. The channel is stuck on Channel 5 (2432 GHz) and never changes and neither is linked to the remote router.

config 'wifi-device' 'wifi0'
        option 'type' 'atheros'
        option 'disabled' '0'
        option 'channel' '11'
        option 'diversity' '0'
        option 'hwmode' '11b'

config 'wifi-iface'
        option 'device' 'wifi0'
        option 'mode' 'sta'
        option 'ssid' 'RemoteSSID-WDS'
        option 'network' 'wds'
        option 'wds' '1'
        option 'encryption' 'none'

config 'wifi-iface'
        option 'device' 'wifi0'
        option 'mode' 'ap'
        option 'ssid' 'OpenWRT-AP'
        option 'network' 'lan'
        option 'encryption' 'none'

Yo can see "ath0" channel:

ath0 IEEE 802.11b ESSID:"RemoteSSID-WDS"
          Mode:Managed Frequency:2.427 GHz Access Point: Not-Associated
          Bit Rate:1 Mb/s Tx-Power=16 dBm
          RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
          Encryption key:off
          Power Management:off
Link Quality=0/70 Signal level=-98 dBm Noise level=-98 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:9 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

ath1 IEEE 802.11b ESSID:"OpenWRT-AP"
          Mode:Master Frequency:2.462 GHz Access Point: Not-Associated
          Bit Rate:0 kb/s Tx-Power=16 dBm
          RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
          Encryption key:off
          Power Management:off
Link Quality=0/70 Signal level=-98 dBm Noise level=-98 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

If I manually define a channel 11 interface, it works.

iwconfig ath0 channel 11
then
ath0 IEEE 802.11b ESSID:"RemoteSSID-WDS"
          Mode:Managed Frequency:2.462 GHz Access Point: 00:0F:66:45:D9:A1
          Bit Rate:11 Mb/s Tx-Power=16 dBm
          RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
          Encryption key:off
          Power Management:off
Link Quality=54/70 Signal level=-44 dBm Noise level=-98 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:239 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
