LZMA-Support for kernel 2.6.35 is broken/not working on ixp4xx

Reported by: Ernesto Owned by: kaloz
Priority: high Milestone:
Component: kernel Version: Trunk
Keywords: Kernel 2.6.35 lzma ixp4xx Cc:

Description

The LZMA-Kernel-Compression is broken/not active for Kernel 2.6.35-rc3 in trunk.

Without LZMA Compression, the kernel is bigger then 1,2 MB and can´t be flashed in various devices.

After trying to change by hand from gzip to LZMA in the kernel-configs, i have no continous success with compiling for ixp4xx
platform. Just 1 time the kernel was bootable, mostly i got boot-errors "illegal address" or similar messages.

Looks like, that LZMA compiles is not correctly initialized between many compiles (make clean, etc. is not working/is not helping).

Right now, 2.6.35 compile is try & error-game. Sometimes kernel boots, mostly boots not...
