#7536 closed defect (fixed)

Colors for luci live graphs are nearly indistinguishable

Reported by: dlenski@… Owned by: jow
Priority: normal Milestone: Backfire 10.03.1
Component: luci Version: Backfire 10.03

Description

The luci-app-livestats package uses nearly indistinguishable colors for graphs with multiple curves plotted on them. This makes it very hard to distinguish the incoming/outgoing traffic curves, for example (see attached screenshot).

The actual plots are generated via JavaScript code in /www/luci-static/resources/livestats ... this code itself seems to be autogenerated, and is nearly impossible for me to read and modify, so I haven't been able to figure out exactly where the code to automatically pick graph colors is. However, I expect it's a very simple fix for someone who knows how to find this.

I can confirm that colors for Incoming/Outgoing Traffic are indistinguishable in 10.03.1-RC3.
Hope this can be fixed for final release.

The best fix would be possibility to choose colors in User Interface.
Or default to Red/Green colors, which is high-contrast combination, so you will see required information without problems.

LuCI 0.10 uses better colors.
