Description

The problem was raised in the bug: /ticket/7187.html

I describe the problem again

Until now I was using kamikaze 7.09 8.09 9.09.1 8.09.2. There was no problem with flashing openwrt on the router ag241 previous versions. Despite strenuous attempts, I can not run properly on ag241 Backfire. After uploading your router does not respond to the address 192.168.1.1. DSL syncs correctly but I can not get to the router via telnet or ssh. The ping does not respond well. The same applies to the trunk version. The effect is similar - not working ethernet. In desperation, I used a version of the step on your part but also does not work.

Bad detects the MAC address address. Differences in the entries can be seen immediately.

Valid MAC address of the router are: 00:0e:0a:aa:44:ff

My router AG241V2-EU based on TNETD7200ZDW is only one Ethernet interface - eth0. There is no eth1.
So /changeset/21312.html not solve the problem in any way.

This is no solution.

the same problem in ag241 v2. Backfire can not get to the router via the Ethernet

Similar problem with D-Link DSL-502T GenII.
I'm using r22391. Configuring lan as bridge works, but last two octets of MAC show 00:00 for eth0 and for br-lan.
No access via lan as soon bridge configuration is removed.

Also, it thinks eth0 is set to 10Mb/s half-duplex at boot time;

PHY: 1:00 - Link is Up - 10/Half

even though the LEDs on the switch at the other end of the cable show 100/full. If I try to set it explicitly with "ethtool -s eth0 duplex full speed 100" it goes:

Trying 10/HALF
PHY: 1:00 - Link is Up - 1000/Full

which is silly (neither side supports this speed). Traffic does get through in both "10/half" and "1000/full" configurations though.

I do not know how to solve this problem but it may be a workaround.
You should add to / etc / rc.local the following lines:

ifdown lan

ifup lan
sleep 2
mii-tool -F 100baseTx-HD eth0

And when you reboot the router will be connected to eth0 properly.

Unfortunately for 10Mbit FD or HD is not connected correctly. Only 100Mbit network correctly.

I have no way to check if it's really related to this bug (no serial console…), but the fact is that all kamikaze images work, and none of the blackfire or trunk images work (AG241V2-EU-AnnexA).

So it seems that the "recent changes in cpmac" did not help.

I have the same issue with ag241v2-DE-AnnexB.
Kamikaze works, but backfire and the snapshots not.

Looks like something still broken backfire/10.03.1-rc6/ar7/openwrt-AG241v2-jffs2-64k-code.bin. Device successfully flash it, but on reboot, bootloader says 'File format not supported'. Flashing the latest Kamikaze fixes the problem, but leaves with he old version.

the bug still exists in BarrierBreaker 14.07-rc2 and was never fixed, it would be realy nice if you could look into this.
