Hello,
I have compiled, with your patch Mediatomb for OpenWRT running on my Buffalo wzr-hp-g300nh (ar71xx platform - mips big endian).

Everything works fine.

Thanks in advance and congratulations for having supported a mediaserver so complete as Mediatomb in the OpenWRT project. Bye bye old uShare!!!

I would know why you disabled the following libraries in Makefile:

  • taglib (used to extract metadata from MP3, Mediatomb prefer this before id3lib);
  • ffmpeg (used to extract additional information from files);
  • libjs (used to create a virtual container layout);

They are all present in the openwrt repository and they seem to been updated with the minimum requirements of mediatomb 0.12.1.

Did you find any problem in these libraries?

Thanks Carlo

I forgot to write that my version of openwrt is Backfire 10.03

Can you show me how to apply this patch?

Where should I put the .patch file?

How do I execute it?

patch < mediatomb.patch, I guess?

Is the option added to the make menuconfig? Or it will be included automatically?

Thank you very much.

Pitou!

ok I did it using the latest dev trunk.

1- Download the mediatomb source package:

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/mediatomb/mediatomb-0.12.1.tar.gz

2- untar in your <trunk_dir>/package directory
3- rename it "mediatomb" only
4- place the mediatomb.patch in the <trunk_dir>/package/mediatomb directory
5- cd <trunk_dir>/package/mediatomb and execute "patch -p1 < mediatomb.patch"

Then in the "make menuconfig", the "mediatomb" item will be in the "multimedia" section.

Thanks for the patch!

Just to add that I was getting this error when starting mediatomb:

can't load library 'libstdc++.so.6

I had to select this item in the base package menu:

<*> libstdcpp.................................... GNU Standard C++ Library v3

I don't know how to link mediatomb to uclibc++

Any suggestion?

Pitou!

This patch works great as long as you build libstdcpp... any way it can get into the normal build so newbies like me don't spend 5 days figuring this out :)
