#7181 closed defect (wontfix)

startup script for cups not installed

Reported by: fanta@… Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Backfire 10.03.1
Component: packages Version: Backfire 10.03
Keywords: cups init link Cc:

Description

When installing cups using opkg, an init-script is installed as /etc7init.d/cups. However, no links from /etc/rc.d/S50cups and /etc/rc.d/K50cups are created. They should be created during package install and deleted during package uninstall.

No. Run '/etc/init.d/cups enable' or '/etc/init.d/cups disable' to create or delete the symlink.

  • Resolution set to wontfix
  • Status changed from new to closed

Exactly, initscripts are not enabled automagically by opkg (for safety reasons). You have to do this manually as suggested in above comment.
