NSLU2 & Kamikaze 8.09 & pptpd = broken

Reported by: der_Kief Owned by: nico
Priority: normal Milestone: Backfire 10.03
Component: base system Version: Trunk
Keywords: nslu2 kamikaze pptpd Cc:

Description

Hi,

after spending over 2 weeks now to get pptpd working under Kamikaze 8.09.2 i discoverd that there is a problem with 'old' version of pptpd included (package) in 8.09.2 After trying Debian/Lenny (with newer version of pptpd) on the SLUG with exact same setting it works -> https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=23897
How to get an update for the pptpd package ? Even in Backfire there is no full support for pptpd (missing modules for crypto, mppe ..)
Any way to get this to work ?

What do you mean by "missing modules for crypto, mppe ..." ? There's is a kmod-mppe module, with correct dependencies on kmod-crypto-arc4 & kmod-crypto-sha1, which is loading correctly (just checked). Please elaborate on this, I'm curious...

I will check this when i'm back home. Is the kmod-mppe module included in the Backfire Image for NSLU2 -> ixp4xx ? I ask because i didnt find it at packages directory.

Oh, you're right, most kernel module packages are missing for ixp4xx.

It will be fixed on upcoming Backfire 10.03-rc2.

Could you also fix the USB support (missing module packages like kmod-usb2, kmod-usb-ohci, kmod-scsi-core, kmod-usb-storage) for the ixp4xx.

Also please fix filesystem support for ext2 & ext3 (missing module packages kmod-fs-ext2, kmod-fs-ext3)

There still seems to be a bug in the Backfire pptp package. As I wrote in https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?pid=107172#p107172 the address 192.168.0.1 seems to be hardcoded somewhere in the package. No matter what I try, pptp clients can connect but don't get internet access.
