#6854 closed defect (fixed)

Firmware is not created for TEW632BRP when kernel is too big

Reported by: x@… Owned by: nbd
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: packages Version: Kamikaze trunk
Keywords: tew632brp Cc:

Description

When building firmware for the TEW632BRP profile (and other "Cameo" profiles), the full firmware image is not created if the kernel size goes outside of the mtdparts boundaries. So, if a user makes a modification to the kernel config, there is no easy way to build that firmware other than by modifying the image Makefile and the machine-specific file to update the partition table.

The following patch causes the rootfs partition to be created automatically by scanning the specified "mtdroot" partition (usually the "kernel" partition). Thus, no modifications are necessary to any partition tables or image Makefiles, regardless of the size of the kernel.
