Reported by: roberto.riggio@… Owned by: developers
Priority: high Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: kernel Version: Kamikaze trunk

I'm building the latest version of openwrt (x86 target). If I try to compile some additional kernel modules for video, usb to serial, and umts modems, I get the following errors:

usbserial: Unknown symbol usb_alloc_urb
option: Unknown symbol usb_alloc_urb
pl2303: Unknown symbol usb_serial_port_softint
uvcvideo: Unknown symbol usb_put_intf

This also occurs on ar71xx (r19943) using usb_storage.
ehci_hcd also complains that there are missing symbols.

Adding kmod-nls-base manually resolves this issue, as far as I can tell kmod-nls-utf8 doesn't have it as a dependency.

actually is seems that the dependency should be pulled by the usb-core module itself:

DEPENDS:=@USB_SUPPORT +LINUX_2_6_31:kmod-nls-base +LINUX_2_6_32:kmod-nls-base

but at least in my case this in not working. I'm using the default configuration for the x86 target (kernel
