#6492 closed defect (fixed)

r6040 with rtl8305s do not work completly

Reported by: Alexander Sulfrian <alexander@…> Owned by: florian
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: kernel Version: Trunk
Keywords: rdc r6040 rtl8305 Cc: alexander@…

Description

Hi,
i have a dc230 (rdc target) with two r6040 network interfaces. they are connected to a rtl8305 switch. The wan port does work but only half of the lan ports are working. (Strange: The leds of that no working ports (the both left ports) are flashing if i ping the router on these ports, but i get no answer. Even the arp requests are not answered.)

I do not know, how to configure the rtl8305. There is no driver in the kernel (iirc in 2.4 there was one) The rtl8305 has a mii interface, but robocfg has no support for the r6040 driver. (Read somewhere in the forum, that the rtl8305 is nearly the same than the bcm5325.)

I actually noticed the same problem on my AR525W, which has an IC+ switch.

It actually works on all ports I made a mistake.

The mentioned behavior is now fixed with r21471.

You should be able to get the switch working with r21521.
