#6375 closed defect (fixed)

deleting files on jffs2 filesystems leaves zombie dir-entries

Reported by: Felix.Braun@… Owned by: developers
Priority: high Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: kernel Version: Trunk
Keywords: jffs2 Cc:

Hi there, I have a weird issue with a jffs2 filesystem on kernel built from trunk.

If I remove a file or directory on such a filesystem, the inode seems to be cleared, however there seems to remain a dir-entry:

root@fonera:~# mkdir test1 test1/test2
root@fonera:~# touch test1/file
root@fonera:~# cd test1
root@fonera:~/test1# ls
file test2
root@fonera:~/test1# rm file
root@fonera:~/test1# rmdir test2
root@fonera:~/test1# ls
ls: ./file: No such file or directory
ls: ./test2: No such file or directory
root@fonera:~/test1# cd ..
root@fonera:~# rmdir test1
rmdir: 'test1/': Directory not empty
