#598 closed defect (worksforme)

KAMIKAZE : Configuration tool not includes selected kmod-net-* in final image.

Reported by: seagull Owned by: nico
Priority: high Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: kernel Version:
Keywords: Cc:

I have the same issue as Thor, NDL...
Please see the description below from the Forum:

If I select any option in "Kernel Configuration/Device Support"->"Filesystem support" as included (y) instead of module (m) happens a very strange thing. Any selected kernel module for networking (kmod-net-*) from the menu "Kernel Configuration/Device Support"->"Network Device Support" is not included in the resulting image in /lib/modules/2.4.32/ ; the ipkg package of the kmod is correctly created.

Thansk in advance for fixing this.

Thanks Nico,

I tested your fix, I also ensured in the .config file contained "config_nat_semi=y" but the natsemi.o is still missing in the /lib/modules directory while nfs..., madwifi-ng... are well in the lib directory...
It seems it includes some modules of the kernel but not all...

Any idea?

i'm not shur whether [4081] fixes this problem.
for me it seems the ipkg skript does NOT export IPKG_INSTROOT when calling the
package's ".postinst configure".
So the if statement in the postconfigure script fails und so does the whole script which causes the ipkg script to an early abort.

To fix this behaviour ich changes line 880 in the scrips/ipkg script
$info_dir/$pkg.postinst configure
(IPKG_INSTROOT="$IPKG_INSTROOT" $info_dir/$pkg.postinst configure)

For me this hack works quite well.
