#5844 closed defect (fixed)

PPPD (using pppoe) using wrong device

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: developers
Priority: high Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: packages Version:
Keywords: pppoe, wl0 Cc:

Description

I applied the changes suggested by jow in ticket @5839, but I still see the issue:

Sep 14 10:28:27 OpenWrt daemon.warn pppd[2039]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets Sep 14 10:28:27 OpenWrt daemon.err pppd[2039]: Unable to complete PPPoE Discovery Sep 14 10:29:12 OpenWrt daemon.warn pppd[2039]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets Sep 14 10:29:12 OpenWrt daemon.err pppd[2039]: Unable to complete PPPoE Discovery

ifdown wan works correctly, it stops the ppp daemon, but ifup wan does nothing. This is my config:

So, the problem appears only when network is reloaded.

Looking at the log: http://pastebin.com/f4c349002,

I can see that when network id reloading, pppd is trying to use nic-ppp0. After that I get PADO timeouts, until I restart the router. So I think the bug is in the scripts that reload the network; I think sould be nic-wl0. Right?

With ifdown wan, I stop the pppd daemon, but calling ifup wan does nothing and no log is reported with logread. Why?
