pppoe does not work at all on WR850G

Description

I can't get PPPOE running on Whiterussian RC5 on Motorola 850G. The problem might be that /dev/ppp is missing on my system. If is start pppd manual, i get this error:

| ppd: pppd is unable to open the /dev/ppp device.

| You need to create the /dev/ppp device node by

| executing the following command as root:

| mknod /dev/ppp c 108 0

Unfortunately mknod is not available so i can't fix this. What to do now?

Ok, the problem goes away when the ppp-modules are loaded. But why aren't the modules loaded automatically? How to fix this?

Clarification: The problem of missing /dev/ppp goes away when loading the modules manual but the problem itself (pppoe not working) does not. Even after loading the modules, no pppoe session is started. It seems that pppd is not started at all.

Very funny. I'm not an idiot, and i've read the manual. Unfortunately it does not cover this problem.

And guess what: I've configured pppoe through the web interface. I guess this should work without any manual intervention. It does not, hoewever. I believe this is a bug.

You should work on your attitude, really.
