#550 closed defect (fixed)

RC5: /etc/init.d/S50dnsmasq sets incorrect dhcp IP address range

Reported by: ojunk@… Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: 0.9/rc6
Component: packages Version:

Description

In order to calculate the range of IP addresses to offer /etc/init.d/S50dnsmasq calls

eval $(ipcalc $ipaddr $netmask $start $num)

, however $num is set to num=$((start+${num:-150})) rather than the actual number of addresses, which /bin/ipcalc expects. Although technically this is not necessarily a bug in S50dnsmasq as much as it is an incosistency between S50dnsmasq and ipcalc; however, I am assuming the intent is to pass the number of addresses to ipcalc since this is also more consistent with the dhcp_num nvram variable.
