#5081 closed enhancement (wontfix)

Parameterization of RESOLV_CONF in /usr/share/udhcpc/default.script

Reported by: huffcslists@… Owned by: developers
Priority: low Milestone: Features Paradise
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: dns Cc:

Description

Currently, this script has RESOLV_CONF hardcoded to the value of /tmp/resolv.conf.auto. However, this is changeable in /etc/config/dhcp with an option 'resolvfile' '/xxx/yyy.zzz' in the dnsmasq section. This value could be obtained and used in default.script if the first few lines were changed to be:

#!/bin/sh
[ -z "$1" ] && echo "Error: should be run by udhcpc" && exit 1
. /etc/functions.sh
include /lib/network

config_load dhcp
config_get RESOLV_CONF dnsmasq resolvfile

hotplug_event() {

First attempt poorly formatted. ;-)

NACK. /tmp/resolv.conf.auto is where the network scripts store the DNS settings - if the user wants to change the resolvfile it should be independent of that.
