#4979 closed enhancement (fixed)

Please add gspcaV2 Driver

Reported by: Wlanman Owned by: nico
Priority: high Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: kernel Version: Trunk
Keywords: Cc:

Description

In [13997] gspcaV2 support has been disabled for recent 2.6.x Kernels.
This driver has been replaced by the in-kernel gspcaV2 driver since 2.6.27.

http://moinejf.free.fr/

Please support this new driver in Kamikaze, since most commonly found webcams are covered by it. In 2.6.27 it is a single config option, where later kernels have broken it up into multiple chip-specific modules. Thats why i dont know how to create a Makefile without pain, sry.

Also, adding the lib4l would be needet to support most of the webcam video formats, since all cam-specific decompressors have been transfered from kernelspace into this lib.

Any progress in this issue, now that gspcav1 is completly broken on major new kernels?

OV51x Driver was undergoing the same changes regarding lib4l and video format conversion in-kernel i think, so out of kernel patch is old (and now @BROKEN)...

Hi,

I am also intereted by that driver. Just to be curious, why did gspcav1 stop working with new kernels?

Good luck!
