Description

Hi Team

I have ixdp425 board and i used kamikaze/8.09_RC1/ixp4xx/openwrt-ixp4xx-zImage and rootfs. It successfully uncompressed linux but i am facing a problem which is continuously sending error message related to ethernet.

Using kamikaze 7.0.9 compex image works perfectly but the images of 8.09_RC1 version are not working resulting in

=======================
eth0: MII read failed
========================

Please suggest.

I'm seeing this issue also on an Avila gatworks ixp4xx board with the latest trunk. The ethernet ports work for a period of time, but activity on the ports causes the above Mii Read Fail. Rebooting fixes it for a few seconds but then right back to Mii Read Fail and ports no longer work.

  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

If your board lacks support, you have to add it. Kernels supporting other boards are unlikely to "just work" for you.
