#4381 closed defect (worksforme)

UCI / dnsmasq dhcp-range incorrect

Reported by: kbass@… Owned by: developers
Priority: high Milestone: Kamikaze 8.09 RC1
Component: base system Version:
Keywords: Cc:

Description

I verified that
dhcp.lan=dhcp
dhcp.lan.interface=lan
dhcp.lan.start=130
dhcp.lan.limit=150
dhcp.lan.leasetime=12h

However when I print out the $args in /etc/S60dnsmasq that are passed to dhcp,

--dhcp-range=lan,192.168.2.130,192.168.2.253,255.255.255.0,12h

Where is .253 coming from? That should be .150 (the limit). This could mess people up if the dhcp is giving out IP addresses outside the range they thought they configured

Hi.

Limit is the number of leases you want to provide, not the end address.
End = Start + Limit; if the calculated end ip does not fit into the subnet, it's capped to broadcast-address - 2.
