Description

Hi,

I used the Kamizke 7.07 for IXP425 platform.

I tested the STP feature using two platforms and make the two ethernet ports on each platform as a loop, and ping an unknown IP address on one platform, and I found it will cause a loop.

The following commands are used:

On A platform,

#brctl addbr br0
#brctl addif br0 ixp0
#brctl addif br0 ixp1
#brctl stp br0 on
#ifconfig ixp0 up
#ifconfig ixp1 up
#ifconfig br0 192.168.1.1 up

On B Platform,

#brctl addbr br0
#brctl addif br0 ixp0
#brctl addif br0 ixp1
#brctl stp br0 on
#ifconfig ixp0 up
#ifconfig ixp1 up
#ifconfig br0 192.168.1.2 up
#ping 192.168.1.3

On A platform, used command:

#brctl showstp br0

It did not show ixp0/ixp1 in blocking state.

If there is any comments will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

John
