Any reason you do not use the compat-wireless version of the driver ?

In no compat-wireless at76.

at76_usb however, does not work correctly, creates wlan1 in iwconfig but does not create in ifconfig

Did you make sure your did ifconfig wlan1 up ? Otherwise ifconfig -a should show you the interface anyway. I prefer we package the compat-wireless version which is way easier to maintain.

at76_usb is not exists in compat-wireless
