#4002 closed defect (invalid)

br2684ctl package isn't build by default for AR7 and br2684ctl package doesn't have a /etc/rc.d symlink

Description

AR7 isn't very useful without br2684ctl, and while I understand not putting it in the base system, it should probably be built.

There's also a bug in the package. I can't think of any reason not to start it when the system boots, but without an entry in /etc/rc.d, it isn't.

What revision are you using?

/etc/rc.d/S50br2684ctl exists for me in r11034

Built and installed a fresh checkout of r12620.

/etc/rc.d/S50br2684ctl was present and started at system boot after enabling the atm-bridge in /etc/config/network.

If it's working for you, that's probably good enough for me.

I guess the original question still stands....should br2684ctl become a dependency in either the Linux-ATM or Sangam-ATM makefiles?

  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

br2684ctl is needed to do PPPoE.
Many ADSL users (most of them) use the more performant protocol PPPoA, so br2684ctl isn't really needed.
