#3381 closed defect (worksforme)

WDS doesn't work between 2 atheros (Fonera) devices

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: base system Version:
Keywords: wds repeater atheros fonera Cc:

The config/wireless file creates a working WDS connection between two Foneras running 7.09.

The same config files do not work with trunk (revision 10973).

Also, I get an error message in syslog when it tries to configure the essid of ath1 (the WDS/repeater device). As far as I understand, this device shouldn't have an essid.

Error message:

Jan 1 00:00:27 75 : Error for wireless request "Set ESSID" (8B1A) :
Jan 1 00:00:27 75 : SET failed on device ath1 ; Operation not supported.

I have found the same problem when trying to get a WRT54G to connect to a WGT634U. Both are running a build from trunk (@11406) and a simple unencrypted WDS link does not work.

If I revert the WGT634U back to a 7.09 image, I can establish the WDS link.
