#2772 closed enhancement (fixed)

/etc/hotplug2-init.rules

Reported by: michu-at-neophobdotcom Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone:

Description

remove the following section from the file /etc/hotplug2-init.rules:

SUBSYSTEM ~~ button {
       exec kill -USR1 1 ;
}

It just halts the system, which is not very usefull, especially if you add a button action...

removing it is not an option. it is essential for failsafe support. in later versions of trunk this line should no longer cause the system to halt. please confirm.

I testsd it at least with r9600 on atheros 2.6, I wanted to add a wifi toggler. As long as those lines were in the /etc/hotplug2-ini.rules it didnt work, means the router shutdown (System halted).

I reviewed the code again and refactored it a bit. Should be fixed in r9644, please verify.

The buttons working fine here on the WL-500gP. Tested with latest trunk and a 2.6 Kernel.

Failsafe mode and WiFi toggle works!
