#23129 new defect

ag71xx: eth1 tx timeout

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: base system Version: Chaos Calmer 15.05
Keywords: Cc: nbd@…, mschiffer@…

Description

I have massive problems with the latest CC+trunk and devices like Open Mesh OM2P-HS or TP-Link WR841N v11.1. When I have their WAN ports (eth1) connected during bootup then the port will stop working. Instead something like "eth1: tx timeout" is printed in the kernel log all the time.

I even had this problem happening when the device was booted up and running for a while.

The problematic commit seems to be caused by "ar71xx: enable flow control for ethernet MACs with built-in switch"

Why are those buggy commits added to stable releases like Chaos Calmer?

I believe you are confused. The commit you are referring to has never been added to OpenWrt (neither CC nor trunk), but does only exist in the LEDE project. If you're using a patched version of OpenWrt, this is the wrong place to report such a bug.
