#22168 new defect

NOIP DNS does not update using groupname

Description

Hi All,

As far as I see there is a problem with NO-IP dynamic DNS service updates.

If I try to use group name for username, update fails.

According to NOIP support, groupnames should be used as the following, however LuCi removes or encodes this character wrong.

Groupname<separator>Username, where the separator can be ‘%23’ or ‘%3A’ or ‘#’

Could you please check scripts?

Looking into ASCII-table "%23" -> "#" and "%3A" -> ":" (colon)
So I think in field "username" you need to set
<group>#<user>
If you look into logfile you see the translated string send to noip.
Never seen groupnames before. what are they for?
Thanks
Christian

It seems to be a noip.com issue, they accept only "%23" or "#" as a separator.
