Description

I try 3 different USB radios all made by Huawei, only one results in a /dev entry
How do I get the first two radios working??

First radio:
lsusb shows Bus 001 Device 010: ID 12d1:14db Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.

[ 80.320623] usb 1-1: new high-speed USB device number 3 using dwc2
[ 80.527318] usb-storage 1-1:1.0: USB Mass Storage device detected
[ 80.544995] scsi host1: usb-storage 1-1:1.0
[ 81.117047] dwc2 1e101000.ifxhcd: Not connected
[ 81.252806] usb 1-1: USB disconnect, device number 3

That's it, no device appears in /dev. The mac address, 58:2c:80:13:92:63, is made up. It is the same for the next radio tested.

Second radio:

The firat two seem to not run in propper modem mode. This is known from modern huawei devices. You can read in the Internet how to switch them to modem mode
