#22019 new defect

Linksys e1200-v2 Reset button(s) do not work in failsafe mode

Reported by: loye.young@… Owned by: developers
Priority: high Milestone:
Component: base system Version: Chaos Calmer 15.05
Keywords: failsafe Linksys_e1200 bcm53xx brcm47xx bcm47xx Cc:

Description

When trying to boot into failsafe mode, the buttons do not work to allow access via failsafe.

I see (using tcpdump listening for broadcast message) the first message inviting me to push the button to enter failsafe. I push the button for a second or two, then release. No message saying I'm in failsafe. I then try to access via telnet. Nothing. Failsafe times out and continues to boot.

I've tried both buttons on the device.
I've extended the wait time in /etc/preinit (which seemed to extend the time as expected).

What about reset button in general? If you boot OpenWrt normally, does pressing reset button shortly reboots the device nicely?
