#21887 new defect

Fails very early in tools\compile due to md5 issues

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: packages Version: Trunk

Description

The full log is down below, but I narrowed this problem down to call to md5s() in shell.sh from find_md5 in depends.mk.

I do have md5sum installed, but the way this call is made it does not return md5 and instead prints the help text (print mode: md5sum <file> <file> ... check mode: md5sum -c <checksum file>) that wrongly gets appended to .prepared and build fails. I tried multiple versions, including trunk.

Any assistance would be great appreciated?

I had a "non-standard" md5sum in /usr/local/bin with no version number, and not sure how it got installed in the first place.

With the md5sum installed with Ubuntu system at /usr/bin (version 8.21) the build is progressing past earlier failure.

We can close this ticket. Only upside from trying to bug this development environment issue is got a better insight into openwrt build system

Sorry for the distraction!
