From Paris with a direct connection to Cogent and Interoute, both path are down witch seems to lead to a server-side failure.

The TTL (time to live) from

http://viewdns.info/dnsrecord/?domain=openwrt.org

shows a record of 604800 s = 7 days.

This will make it difficult to replace the IP within short time.

comment:6 Changed 2 years ago by anonymous

Doesn't seems to be a DNS outage or an IP address change.

But i agree the TTL is too high, at least at downloads.openwrt.org, where thousands of routers get theirs packets from. Nobody is protected against a big network outage where the Original IPs are inusable and seven days before getting ISPs DNS updated is way too high.

comment:11 Changed 2 years ago by anonymous

comment:12 Changed 2 years ago by anonymous

Dont use the precompiled and outdated images. Just compile your image with all nedded things inside and put it on your router.

comment:13 Changed 2 years ago by anonymous

St Helens UK.

We've some server problems, waiting for new hardware: https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?pid=311636

When is this going to end?

If you had announced that, I'm sure some people in the community would have been able to set up mirrors, donate for new hardware or else..

comment:16 Changed 2 years ago by ciresnave@…

...and they're down again. This would happen right after I bricked my router and had to wipe everything and reinstall. <sigh> Like the person above said, if we had a way to assist we would. OpenWRT is valuable stuff and therefor downloads.openwrt.org is valuable stuff. I'd be willing to pitch a small donation toward keeping it available.

comment:17 Changed 2 years ago by anonymous

eric: it's a bit hard to predict hardware failures

Curious if any new news?

According to our build guy, we use 8.09 in one of our products, which is not git'ed in the above link.

Is SVN support being discontinued?
