Description

Sorry, is there a way to comment a closed ticket?

A WPA-Preshared Key consists of 64 hexadecimal digits. If the user enters 8-63 ASCII characters the real key (with 64 hex-digits) will be calculated from this phrase. On most AccessPoints you can enter this Key directly, for example on the Linksys original Firmware for the WRT54G. Then this preshared key will direct be used for authentication without additional calculations.

Of course it is wrong to enter 64 ASCII characters.

The Webif in RC4 shows me my 64-digit hey-key but I can't change it. For people who want to use such a key the webif is useless in this point. I have to use such a key because a pda of a client has problems with the ascii-keys, with this hex-key it works perfectly over months with openwrt+nas.

Quote: The passphrase may be from eight to 63 ASCII characters or 64 hexadecimal digits (256 bits).
