TP-Link WDR 4900 - 5GHz Wifi Problems with CC

Reported by: abraham.fdez.alvarez@… Owned by: developers

Component: kernel Version: Chaos Calmer 15.05

Description

I'm experiencing wifi problems with my TP-Link WDR 4900 running OpenWrt Chaos Calmer.
I have a properly configured /etc/config/wireless. But the wifi doesn't come up, LUCI displaying "Wireless is disabled or not associated", at the same time offering to disable it (sic).
I don't really know what is happening there, deleting the entries in the config file and re-adding it didn't help. Please tell me which logs to post to provide further information to investigate this issue.
Thanks.

It didn't work. I went back to stock firmware and reinstall CC. Now it goes ok after all.

I think there is something that isn´t updated at CC upgrade from BB.

Best Regards

More simple way to fix such "not flashed propperly" issues is to flash same version as sysupgrade once again.

config mismatch issue between CC and DD fixed in r48425

What would be a solution, besides flashing a sysupgrade? I'm having exactly the same problem and want to fix my configuration manually.

This is a support question that does not belong to the bugtracker.

You can save your config, install latest trunk image with fresh config and check how the propper working config looks like. Then you install again the old image and the old config and make the changes.

The same here like described in comment 6, please tell how to fix without installing images over and over like comment 7 suggests.

Whats the problem of installing recent image? OpenWrt is kind of a rolling release embedded opensource distribution. You should not try to get old non workibg image somehow working. You should update to working, recent version. Thats also the reason of a new release and new fixes.
