#2096 closed defect (fixed)

3c95x driver does not build on 7.06 and svn trunk of kamikaze

Reported by: m.jedrasik[at] Owned by: developers
Priority: high Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: packages Version:
Keywords: Cc: m.jedrasik@…

There simply isn't a package built for this driver, despite the fact it's available in package/kernel/modules/

Also, it's in /.config - CONFIG_PACKAGE_kmod-3c59x=m

Something's definetly wrong and needs fixing. I'll be happy to provide debugging information.

correction, the driver gets built properly, as in, it exists in the /build_i386/linux-2.6-x86/linux- directory, but the .ipk ipkg does not get created correctly.

Should be fixed with [8026]

This still happens in buildroot Kamikaze 7.09, it seems specific to 3c59x as other x86 specific network drivers are packaged and put into the final image. The module is definitely getting built but not made into a ipkg or put into the rootfs image.

Any ideas for a workaround until the new Kamikaze stable is released? (I am still learning about the buildroot system)
