#20690 new defect

WRT1900AC-V2 5Ghz Channels above 48 unusable

Reported by: blabla Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: kernel Version: Chaos Calmer 15.05
Keywords: WRT1900AC Cc:

Description

I'm using a Linksys WRT1900AC-V2 with OpenWRT 15.05.

Problem is that 5Ghz channels other than 36, 40, 44 or 48 are unusable, no matter what regulatory domain/country code i set, whether i use 20, 40 or 80Mhz width, it doesn't work.

The Signal just reports being at 0 dBm, no wireless, no SSID, nothing at all.

I don't know if it is related to DFS but the channels that won't work all require DFS at least in some regions.

I'm not the only one reporting this problem see:
https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?pid=294739#p294739

Here's part of the syslog, it might be of help fixing the issue:

I'm having a 1900AC V1, with 15.05, and on the 5Ghz band, the 20,40,80 are WORKING, but 160 is NOT working. After searching the web a little bit, I found that 160 Mhz is not supported by the chipset. At least this thread states that. http://www.snbforums.com/threads/linksys-goes-back-to-the-future-for-new-ac1900-router.14558/page-2

I know that this does not solve your problem, but maybe it help towards the solution.
